Though not the most popular color when you walk down the street, redheads are so important to the success of a salon. Red may not be the color that everyone asks for, but an amazing redhead is the color that people admire, talk about and notice when they walk in or out of a salon. What are the keys to a great redhead? There are two that we focus on - wearability and reflect.

Salon created redheads have long suffered with the challenge of fadage, and with new technology, education and the right take home products, this is no longer a problem we hairdressers can't fix (PK Pro ® by Paul Kenneth Salon & Spa). FROM 'THE MASTER ARTISAN' PK'S CORNER PRESENTS– No Time to Shampoo Tips (Quick Change Artist)

Going out tonight? Want to add some quick soft, sexy waves to day old straight hair? This trick works best on medium to longer length hair. Randomly divide dry hair into 3 or 4 sections and working one section at a time, mist the section with PK Pro NO H2O® by Paul Kenneth Salon & Spa and gently brush through. Mist again lightly and then twist each section into medium to large knots and then pin at the scalp. To get big volume, you may want to use the powder version of no h2o, aim the twists for the top of the head and the crown area. The higher the elevation, the more volume you will get. For medium volume, aim for the round of the head. Thicker hair texture that require little to no volume, aim the knots toward the bottom of the hairline around the head. Then mist the entire head with a resin-free texture building product to create texture with a bit of natural hold and then try while you touch up your makeup. This technique controls and smoothes naturally wavy hair also. Just skip the brush and gently separate and smooth each section with fingertips. Also remember, the bigger the section the bigger the wave.

The messy half-up, half down look is a big trend right now. What’s great is that this is also an easy way to help today’s busy gal for when she is running late. The look actually works better when the texture is not perfect so this style works when you are in a hurry or don’t have time to wash and style your hair. Simply scrunch dry hair with a combination lightweight holding and hair refreshing product. . Lightly mist a section the lightly scrunch and gently hold each section for 3-5 sections. The key to creating any gorgeous hairstyle is to start with healthy, shiny hair. Paul Kenneth shares his best beauty tips on how to score healthy hair even after months of winter abuse.

Step 1: Lather Up Gently
Basic winter hair care starts with a gentle shampoo that won't strip hair of moisture. Try to shampoo less than 3 times a week and use a dry shampoo in between washings. If you simply can't part with a favorite shampoo or daily wash, blend two parts shampoo with one part conditioner for added moisture. If you're ready for something new, try a conditioning treatment that has Aragon oil like PK Moroccan Treatment.

Step 2: Sleep On It
Put the beauty back into beauty sleep by using an overnight hair treatment. Place a PK Spa MD Hair mask from the mid shaft of wet or dry hair down to protect against moisture loss during the night. Repeat this process as often as like since there is no such thing as over-conditioning hair.

Step 3: Give Your Scalp Some TLC

Here is another easy-to-do hairstyle to keep your hair looking stylish, during those challenging blustery winter winds and snow gusts. Hats are a must during winter weather and hair has to look good both when the hat in on and especially when it comes off. Wearing winter hats, no matter how fashionable, can make the hairstyle underneath less than perfect. This PK easy-to-do hair style you can sport the latest hat trend and to keep your hairstyle looking good all while staying warm and fashionable this winter.

Wind Proof Bun or Braid - Great for the Fedora, Beret and Newsboy Cap Wearing a ballerina-esque bun at the nape is perfect combination with this tomboyish type Newsboy cap look or with a Fedora or Beret. Both caps are supposed to be worn mid to low on the forehead and this tends to cover most of the entire forehead. Wearing a ballerina bun pulls the hair back off the face opening to face up. Part hair in the center or off to the side and smooth hair back into a low ponytail at the middle of the nape. You could also opt to place the bun still low on the nape but off to the left or right side. 1. Getting manicures and pedicures is a great beauty pick-me-up. You'll have pretty, polished fingers and toes plus your cuticles and skin will be in better condition. Make your manicures and pedicures last longer:

Try the Shellac Gel Polish. It gives a shiny, chip-free finish with zero dry time and lasts for up to two weeks (sometimes longer!). Light colors are less obvious as they grow out, so this can be a good option for less maintenance.
Use a cuticle oil daily or every other day. This helps keep your nails well-conditioned so they avoid chips, cracks, and splits.

2. Dry skin is a winter woe that few people can avoid. It can have varying degrees of effects, but dry, itchy skin is never comfortable!

Tip: make sure your skin is well exfoliated before getting spray tan. After spray tan (8-10) hours, it is important to moisturize with lotions that do not contain mineral oil.
Don't forget to wear gloves or wash hands immediately after applying to avoid discoloration to palms!

4. Wash your makeup off completely every night. Sure, we all know we're supposed to do this, but did you know that for every night you sleep with your makeup on...your skin can age the equivalent of up to 8 days? That's worth making yourself do it!

Some facial cleansers, such as Hydro Cleanse, contain Panthenol is a stable form of pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5). It aids in moisture retention and promotes the regeneration of damaged skin.

5. Faking a good night's sleep is difficult to do, but with a few steps you can look well-rested even if you're exhausted.

Splash your face with cool water in the morning to reduce water retention and puffiness, then apply an eye cream with brightening properties, such as Eye Proté, stimulates circulation and smoothes fine lines for a more youthful, lifted appearance
Make sure you apply plenty of concealer to your under eye area -- it should be a few shades lighter than your skin to cover circles.

Go easy on the eye makeup, sticking with neutral shadows in cool tones, and finish with eyeliner and mascara on top lashes only.

6. Get your hair done regularly. How many of us have looked in the mirror, thought about scheduling a haircut or color, then waited an extra few weeks to actually do it? Those extra weeks are spent struggling with your overgrown style and trying to hide regrowth that refuses to be camoflouged. Make your life easier and ask your stylist (if he or she hasn't already told you) when you should be coming back to have your style refreshed. Then, make your appointment as you're leaving the salon -- even if you end up having to change it closer to the date, at least you'll remember the approximate date when you should return. Your hair will thank you, and so will your getting-ready routine, since you won't be fighting with a style that has lost its luster.

7. Commit to feeling better about yourself. Even if there are things you'd like to change about your appearance, focus on the positives first. It's easier to change small things one at a time instead of looking at the big picture and wanting an entirely new appearance. Chances are you have a few features that you like -- play them up and focus on them, while working to steadily improve the things you don't like.

'Fall Fresh Look' with a Paul Kenneth Professional

In this case…YES! TO BOB! Keira Knightley is one of the few people that whatever hair she sports, she looks beautiful. Okay, Okay, perhaps that's a little bias. This photo was taken recently at the Chanel show in Paris during Fashion Week and the bob really fits her. It gives her the right amount of elegance, chic-ness, but at the same time stay a little edgy. Generally, as women get older, they would gradually cut their hair shorter and shorter because it would aid an illusion that’ll make them look “younger” (a lot would get bobs as an easy cut) – generally it is not true, and won’t fit for most people – but with Keira, and her new angled bob, it does! I think she looks so fresh with this new hairdo, totally renewed. It compliments her face structure and her blessed high cheekbones. Looking at this picture, makes many want a bob now, not all face structure are able to pull off a Keira, but if you know you can! Please do! very hot, good job Keira.

Replace Moisture by Conditioning

Summer heat, the sun, and exposure to such elements as salt water and chlorine do nothing but dry our hair out. How much do I love this place? I want to move in, that's how much! Well, actually, I practically do once a month. Feathers, The Latest Hair Trend!

Birds of a feather - flock together in blond hair, brunette hair, any color. The latest hair trend isn't so much for the birds but for the fashion-forward.

It's feather extensions for your hair. Or, as Paul Kenneth Salon & Spa calls it - Feather Fringe.

"It has been an amazing hair phenomenon," said Paul Kenneth, Paul Kenneth Salon. "They can go anywhere from classic to funky to colorful. It's a real, full gamut of opportunity for every type of person."

The salon just added Feathers and bling strands to its list of services last week. It costs $15 a feather or five for $60.

They come in a variety of shades, from neutrals to neon-colored. Pure-white feathers can accent a bride's hair. It might sound odd, but it is gorgeous.

"It's been really popular for people who have to have more of a conservative style," she said. "The feathers give you edge, but they're easily hidden if you want."

The feathers attach at the base of the hair shaft like regular hair extensions. And in case you were wondering, the feather extensions are pretty durable and can be curled, flat-ironed and blow-dried.

Lashful, Not Bashful: Are the Individually Glued on Lashes for You?

While we might be satisfied with our eye shadows, and firmly set with our foundation, mascara is probably the one beauty product we’re always changing in hopes of finding a new one that will give our lashes the WOW factor.

For the past few years, the individually glued on lashes have been garnering devoted fans. They add so much drama to your look, much more than even the best mascara and they never look fake, like the ones we apply at home. Expert, Melanie Mills, Makeup Artist for "Dancing with the Stars": Ardell is truly my number one choice when I go for lashes. I love the variety and how long they last. When you pull them off the packaging, they don't curl up or wobble around! I especially love the Invisi-Bands for a "no-makeup look". You can't even tell you have lashes on! There are so many new trend options for eyelashes. The false lashes can be individual or strip, demi or permanent. What’s the process of applying these lashes and how long will they last?
MM: The lashes are applied one by one as you are sitting or lying down, what ever your preference. It takes 10 to 20 min for a full set of upper lashes to be applied. The lashes are permanently glued onto your individual eyelashes and there’s no way to detect where the glue meets your natural lash.

How much length and volume does it create?
MM: Your lashes can be 50% longer and 30% thicker. Once you have these lashes applied, you do not use mascara or an eyelash curler. You can use mascara on the bottom, as most people don’t have the extensions put on the bottom lashes.

Whynot?
MM: Because application to lower lashes has to be done with open eyes and it’s a little uncomfortable, and they don’t last as long because different glue has to be used.

Tell me about the lashes and the glue. Are there differences in quality?
MM: The individual lashes are synthetic, the strip are human hair. The glue is really the key thing to ask questions about. The demi and permanent glue is 100% latex free.

How long will the lashes last and is there any special maintenance?
MM: The permanent lashes are glued to your natural lashes and stay on for the growth cycle of the lash. That’s usually between 3 to 4 weeks. To maintain a full look, I recommend getting a fill-in approximately every 10 days. You do need to be careful to not get moisturizers or eye creams on the lashes as they can break down the adhesive bond.
